Cisco rancher, Pete B. Loftin, named to USTPA Hall of Fame

Pete B. Loftin, of Cisco, was inducted into the USTPA (United States Team Penning Association) Hall of Fame, on October 28th, in Amarillo. Pete was recognized for his exemplary contribution of time, commitment and effort to support and promote the sports of team penning and ranch sorting. Pete was joined by his family, wife Val, son’s Pete and Johnny, daughter Renae and nephew Robert. Pete was born in Mexico City, Mexico and was raised in the Big Bend area, before it was National Park. He was brought up in a ranch family, riding colts at 13 on a 75 section ranch in New Mexico. Pete looked forward to going to school each day, because it meant he wasn’t building fence or working cattle. Sometimes the family ran up to 5,000 head of cattle.
