Kenneth Wayne Underhill

EASTLAND – Kenneth Wayne Underhill, 79 of Eastland, passed away Friday April 23, 2021 in Eastland. Visitation was 5-7p.m., Tues, April 27th at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland, Tx.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wed, April 28th at the First United Methodist Church in Eastland with Pastor Bob Rainey of Waco, TX, and Pastor Darrel Phillips of Eastland, TX officiating. Military graveside honors followed at the Eastland City Cemetery.

Kenneth was born July 13, 1941 in DeLeon, Tx to Joel Felix Underhill and Lillian May (Ely) Underhill. After high school he attended Hardin Simmons University for four years. He married Jean Porter Underhill on March 18, 1959 in Eastland. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1958 until 2001, serving in Vietnam and Desert Storm. Kenneth worked for the U.S Postal Service for 27 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Eastland Gun Club, NRA, Marine Officers Association, American Legion, “The Round Table” coffee group in Eastland, and the First United Methodist Church in Eastland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward George Underhill; and sisters, Wilma Golden, Betty Tucker, and Iredale Coffee; and a granddaughter, Angelica Faith Underhill.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Porter Underhill of Eastland; son, Kenneth David Underhill (Sherry) of Stephenville; daughter, Dawn Underhill McDaniel of Eastland; grandsons, Michael Wayne McDaniel (Rachael) and Kenneth Hunter Underhill; and great-granddaughter, Amarah McDaniel.
