Lois Wyatt Matejek

Lois Wyatt Matejek passed away peacefully at her home in Bedford, Texas on September 26, 2021.

She was born on September 25, 1931 in Carbon, Texas to Leila and Ray Wyatt. Lois graduated from Carbon High School and moved to Midland, Texas in 1949. She met Jerry Matejek and married in 1950.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two siblings; and Lois’s husband, Jerry Matejek.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Hightower and husband, Jack Hightower of Fort Worth and Brenda Smart and husband, Steve Smart of Colleyville; her two sons, Joe Matejek of Midland and Robert Matejek of Dallas; two grandchildren, Whitney Evans and Bailey Hosford; three great-grand children, Cadence Evans, Wyatt Evans and Blakely Hosford;and one niece, Linda Jackson Neeley.

Her kindness, generosity and loving nature brought so much enrichment to her family. Her passing will leave an eternal void but her memories will continue to live on in each and everyone of her family members.

Lois had a successful career in the oil and gas industry for 30 years in Midland, Texas. She was an active member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Midland prior to moving to Bedford, Texas. The family would like to thank her many caretakers at Heartis Assisted Living for their love and care.

A private memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas.
