Ruth Lanelle Horn

EASTLAND – Ruth Lanelle Horn, age 84 years young, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 20, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Services for Ruth were held Monday, May 24, 2021 at 2 pm at Edwards Funeral Home, 411 S. Mulberry, Eastland, TX. Burial will be at Eastland City Cemetery.

Ruth was born in Eastland to James Roy Justice and Willie Evans Justice on November 19, 1936. She was a graduate of Eastland of School. She married James Dee Horn 1953 in Eastland and he preceded her in death May 14, 2020. In the life before family, she worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator in Cisco, then chose to be a stay-at-home Mother and Wife. She was a very creative and artistic lady with a real talent for interior design. She loved gardening and would have a beautiful array of flowers every year. She was also an accomplished cook and had a special knack for cinnamon rolls and stroganoff. She was wonderful, fun and loving Mom who loved the Lord and loved her church.

Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 65 years, James Horn, a son; Bill Michael and two brothers; Glenn and Harold Justice.

She is survived by two sons; James Dean Horn and Paul David Horn, daughter; Valori Gay Horn and a dear sister; Fern Poe. Online condolences may be left at www.edwards-funeral-homes.com
