William Y Gregg, Jr.

EASTLAND – William Y Gregg, Jr., age 82, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 16, 2021. William had requested to be cremated due to the fact he was not comfortable with a lot of “hoop la”.

William was born in Breckenridge, TX August 21, 1938 to William and Odessa Pearl Smith Gregg. He was a graduate of Odessa High School. While living in Odessa he was active in the Jaycees and worked as a police officer for the city of Odessa. If you asked William what he did for a living he would tell you Sales. He worked for several different companies selling everything from portable buildings to compressors.

William loved life and loved people, spreading cheer wherever he went. He was always fun and jovial and always had a pocket full of candy to give you if you were having a bad day. William was known as the Leprechaun and loved to hand out candy on St Patrick’s day while he dressed like a Leprechaun. He was also a big baseball fan and loved the Texas Rangers and was an excellent square dancer.

He is survived by his children; Robert “Bob” Gregg, William “Bill” Gregg and wife Karen and Katherine Kasper and their mother Pat Redman, grandchildren; Clay, Cody, Maci, Samantha and Wayne, great-grandchildren; Brynlee, Hunter, Colten, Nevaeh, Gunner; bonus great-grands; PJ and Maddie and soon to be Harper Gregg. William was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Tina Gregg and son-in-law Bob Kasper.
