Randall Craig Clark

Randall Craig Clark, age sixty-one of Comanche, Texas, passed away on Saturday, 17 April 2021, suddenly at his second home in Taylor’s Crossing, Georgia.

On 16 November 1959, Jerry and Sharon Bragg Clark welcomed their first son, Randall, into the world in Abilene, Texas. He was raised in Comyn, along with his siblings, Janet & Jason. He graduated from De Leon High School in 1978 and attended Cisco Junior College. He was a proud member of the De Leon Bearcat State Champion football team 1975 & State Finalist 1976. After leaving college, Randall went to work full time for the family business, Clark Tractor, in De Leon, Texas. After meeting the love of his life, Pamela Jean Golden (Pam), on Valentine’s Day 1979, Pam and Randall married in Eastland, Texas, on 20 July 1979. The following year, in July of 1980, they welcomed their daughter, Kori Dawn; and in August of 1981, Kyle Craig completed their family. Together, they raised each other; as Randall always said “a couple of kids raising some kids”.

In the early 80’s, Randall and Pam began managing the Comanche location of Clark Tractor Service Center. Building upon the success of the local business, they eventually moved from a Service Center to a full John Deere dealership in Comanche, where it remains at its current location on Highway 36. A mark of Jerry and Randall’s success as entrepreneurs, Clark Tractor has remained a family owned and operated John Deere dealership since 1963 in Comanche County.

When he wasn’t working, you could find Randall and Pam at equipment auctions and estate sales, always with their beloved dogs. His greatest moments were spent with his grandchildren. Junking with Harrison, cheering for Hatton on the football field, traveling across Texas to watch the boys show their steers, operating heavy equipment with Knox, and most recently; allowing Amelia to rub his beard and laugh.

He served as a deacon for First Baptist Church, Comanche, where he and Pam actively participated in the youth program as well as other church projects. He was a fervent supporter of youth organizations and other activities throughout Comanche County; including the Peach and Melon Festival, Comanche Pow-Wow, community rodeos, youth sports associations, and livestock association.

Despite his ornery and often gruff demeanor, Randall personified his favorite bible verse, Psalm 100, by showing great love and generosity, even though he may have been described as having “a love language of being bossy” more than once.

Randall was preceded in death by his father, Jerry L. Clark, as well as his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Peggy Golden. Randall is survived by his wife, Pamela Jean (Pam) Clark; daughter Kori Sides, husband Ryan, and sons Harrison and Hatton; son Kyle, wife Amanda, and children Knox and Amelia (Millie); mother, Sharon Bragg Clark; sister Janet Clark-Dossey, and brother Jason Clark.

The Clark family will receive friends for visitation from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22 nd at First Baptist Church, Comanche. Funeral services celebrating Randall’s life will be held Friday, April 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Comanche, with Brother Van Christian officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche.
