Two of Eastland’s newest businesses, Taco Casa and Maverick Travel Center, are reaching out to help the children of Eastland County. They are giving out cards for an AB report card AND they are also giving a special card. “These special cards will be designated for children who are less fortunate or a reward for the good kids,” said owners R.B. Shield and Burt Shield. No child will be hungry after 4 pm with these two men. A large percent of kids in the county are on free or reduced meals. The cards are being given to Cisco ISD, Eastland ISD, and Ranger ISD. “Teachers and Administrators will be given the cards to distribute throughout the year,” said Shield. The cards will be for 2 tacos and a drink at Taco Casa OR corn dog basket or grilled cheese basket at the Maverick Grill. They will also have a toy drive in December for local kids in the county. These two men have gone above and beyond in the community to help and support Eastland County kids.

From the car show to the different water slides, to the vendors set up in the gym...everyone had a great time, despite the hot temperatures. See more pictures on A12.
