James Doyle runs for City of Eastland Commissioner
Greetings My name is James Doyle, and I am asking for your vote on May 6 for the Eastland City Commission. I am currently working on the Eastland Economic Development Board and Planning & Zoning Board which I have served for 5 years. I also volunteer with our Eastland Hospital Volunteers and on our Chamber of Commerce Board. I was born in 1961 at our Eastland Hospital and graduated in the EHS class of 1979. I am currently employed at Atmos Energy for the past 40 years. My wife Nancy and I have 7 children and 14 grandchildren and we attend the Daugherty Street Church of Christ.
Shirley Stuart runs for City of Eastland Commissioner
Hi, I’m Shirley Stuart and I am running for City Commissioner for the City of Eastland. Many of you know me, while many of you do not. For those who do not, let me offer a brief introduction: I’ve lived in Eastland since 1975, with the exception of moving to Fredericksburg for two years following retirement. After two years being away from Eastland, I realized how much I missed the town, my friends and my family, and moved back “home” in 2021.
Oznick, Ivey punch tickets to regional track meet
By Tommy Wells Jay Oznick and Audrey Ivey continued to write their names into the Eastland Mavericks’ record books this past week by turning in a stellar outing at the Area Track and Field Championships in Jacksboro. The two seniors highlighted their respective team’s outing by qualifying for the Region II-3A meet.
CITY BAGGED LEAF PICK-UP ENDS APRIL 28
The City of Eastland, along with Waste Connections, has offered free bagged leaf pickups on the second and fourth Fridays of each month beginning in December. This service for the season will end on Friday, April 28, 2023. All bagged leaves must be placed at the curb no earlier than 24 hours in advance of a scheduled pick up. Residents must call Eastland City Hall at 254-629-8321 to be placed on the pick-up list at least 24 hours before a pick-up date.
