Appreciation Luncheon Benefits Libray, Back Pack Program
KATX/KWBY Customer Appreciation Luncheon was held at the Lumber Yard in Eastland Thursday at noon. A wonderful meal of Pork Loin with all the trimmings was served. The meal was free or by donations to benefit the Eastland Library and the Eastland Back Pack Program.

We had 158 consignors and 56 buyers. Packer cows were $4 to $6 higher. Packer bulls were $5 to $8 higher. Young replacement cows and pairs were $100 to $150 higher. Market on steers and heifers weighing 500# and under were steady to strong. Market on steers and heifers weighing over 500# were steady. We had a good market today with all classes of cattle being higher.
Eastland, Texas — This holiday season, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Watch UR BAC program is teaming up with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to remind all drivers about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Eastland County Sheriff Jason Weger and Eastland County Sheriff Department Law Enforcement were joined by “Thin Blue Line” Motorcycle Club members Saturday to distribute Christmas gifts to local children.

Members of the San Angelo Chapter of the “Thin Blue Line” Motorcycle Club came to Eastland Saturday December 10th. These members met up at the Sheriff’s Department and were joined by Sheriff Jason Weger, to continue their trip of goodwill. Club members had purchased bicycles for 5 predetermined youths in our county to spread some Christmas cheer.
