Melissa Little Retires After 42 Years

A momentous event will occur on June 30th when Melissa Little ends her 42-year career as an administrative assistant at the 11th Court of Appeals. Melissa, a native of Eastland, was only nineteen years old when she was hired as a legal secretary for the court. She has served as a vital cog in the production of every opinion or order issued by the court in the last 42 years. A cursory Westlaw search reveals that the court has issued over 8,000 opinions and orders during that time.

Ribbon Cutting at Lake Leon dam

Please join the Eastland County Water Supply District at Lake Leon as they celebrate the completion of the Lake Leon Dam Project with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, July 2nd at 5:00PM at the Lake Leon Dam. This will mark the reopening of FM 2461 road over the dam along with the boat ramp and camping facilities located at the dam.
