1968 “TET” and the Aftermath

As January neared its end, an offensive was beginning near the DMZ where a string of artillery, rocket and ground attacks were unleashed on Allied posts all along the buffer zone. Khe Sanh and neighboring Lang Wei were hit hard, beginning a three-month drama that would focus the eyes of the world on a small marine garrison in the rolling hills of the Laotian border country. Street fighting broke out in the peaceful seaside resort of Nha Trang and Communist supporters breached the security of the U.S. Embassy grounds in Saigon. Street fighting raged in all eight major cities and at least 30 towns and provincial capitals.

Rangers, Wranglers picked 4th, 5th in NTJCAC poll

Fresh off their first appearance in the Region V Baseball Tournament in almost four decades, the Ranger College baseball program is beginning to get some love from the baseball world again. A two-time NJCAA national champion, Ranger College was picked to finish fourth in the upcoming Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference race. The preseason ranking marked the first time since the mid-1980s that RC was a preseason pick to finish in the upper echelon of what many consider to be the top baseball conference in the nation.

Lady Rangers rally past Temple

Keaundra Kelly and Sanaiya Morris both recorded doubledoubles on Wednesday night and helped the Ranger College Lady Rangers rally for a thrilling 5855 victory over the Temple College Lady Leopards in front of a small crowd in the Ron Butler Gymnasium in Ranger. With the win, the Lady Rangers improved to 1-2 in Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play. Overall, RC is 7-10.
