“Battle of the Bands” was held Saturday, September 16th at the Lyric in Eastland. Pictured above: The 1st Place winner Peace of Blues and 2nd Place winner Cadillac Thieves. 1st Place winner Peace of Blues won a performance at LJT’s 18th Annual Rhymes and Vines Music Fest, recording 1 song at Melody Mountain Ranch recording studio, and to have the song played on KATX radio station; 2nd Place winner Cadillac Thieves won an opportunity to headline at Bear Creek in Eastland. Set in stone - fortunately one can say, Gorman’s Peanut Festival is held on the second Saturday of September. Gorman’s 37th Annual Peanut Festival took place this weekend - with some threat of storms. As it turned out, the storms kept a few miles distance the long anticipated parade was not Rained On!
