CHISHOLM TRAIL EXHIBIT COMING TO EASTLAND COUNTY MUSEUM

Eastland County Museum is pleased to announce that it is hosting the Texas Lakes Trail traveling exhibit on the historic Chisholm Trail beginning August 31. The Texas Historical Commission celebrated the 150th anniversary of this fabled trail which took millions of longhorns north to railroads in Kansas. The money from the sale of the longhorns brought Texas out of the financial disaster following the Civil War. The exhibit is composed of 34 panels and is complementary to the excellent Texas Historic Commission brochure on the Chisholm Trail. It will be on display thru October 27. Eastland County Museum hours are Thursdays thru Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. when volunteers are available. Eastland County Museum is located at 114 S. Seaman St., Eastland.
