Cisco College agricultural department to host career developmental events contest March 24

Cisco / Abilene, Texas - February 26, 2020 - On Tuesday, March 24, over one thousand students from FFA Chapters across Texas will meet at the Cisco College campus to participate in the 6th annual Cisco College Invitational Career Development Events (CDE) Contest. The event is organized by Brandi Terry, Agriculture Professor and meat judging team director of Cisco College. Students will participate in 14 events including Ag Technology and Mechanical Systems, Cotton, Entomology, Farm Business Management, Land, Homesite Evaluation, Milk Quality and Products, Range Plant Identification, Range, Horse, Poultry, Veterinary Science, Wildlife, and Wool. The events will take place at various locations in Cisco including the Cisco College campus, The Cisco College Rodeo Arena, and the Cisco High School agriculture building. Check-in will be from 6:15 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. at the Student Life Building on the Cisco Campus. Events will begin at the respective locations at 9:00 a.m. with the exception of the cotton and veterinary science contests. Cotton will begin at 8:00 a.m. and veterinary science will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Cisco Police make arrest

Recently a motor vehicle was stolen from a local business, as well that business was broken into and had items stolen from inside. Several other vehicles in the area have been burglarized and some other petty thefts have occurred as well. On Monday evening, February 24, 2020 Cisco Police took a male suspect into custody along with a female companion. The stolen vehicle and numerous other stolen items have been recovered. The suspects face multiple felony and mis demeanor charges. This is still a pending investigation and no other information can be released at this time. Information received from local businesses and citizens made these arrests possible and we are thankful to them. This information has helped to clear numerous crimes.
