ROTARY CLUB RECEIVES BRONZE CASTING LESSON - Another new tenant to the ever-growing downtown Cisco business district is Dan Brook (left). Brook has been sculpting for the past 30 years, “living out his dream.” He introduced himself to the Rotary Club this past Thursday and explained to the Club the bronze casting process with Powerpoint. He first showed the group several of his finished projects, including a bust for TCU and a piece dedicated to Grant Teaff at Baylor University in Waco. He talked about the two types of mold, interior and mother. The process then moves to casting in wax after disassembling the mold. The burn out then takes place in the kennel with temperatures exceeding 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. The ceramic shel is then knocked off and the puzzle then is put together. Color is added with heat and chemicals.
