LADY MAVS WIN BI-DISTRICT; FALL TO BROCK IN AREA

After winning their 2nd straight district championship, the Lady Mavs of Eastland battled the Lady Wolves of Colorado City for the Bi-District Championship. They were able to win the playoff match 3 sets to 0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-22). The playoff victory then set up an Area matchup with the perennial powerhouse Brock Lady Eagles. Unfortunately, the Lady Mavs fell to the Lady Eagles in 3 straight sets. Congratulations to Coach Schuman and the Lady Mavs for a great season. The District Honors are listed for the district champs on the Sports Page A14.

Mavericks Bounce Back for Big Win

MAVERICKS REBOUND FOR BIG WIN OVER BULLDOGS

The Mavericks rebounded from a tough loss to Wall to defeat the Bulldogs, 42-27. The win puts the Mavericks in a position to battle for 2nd place against the Jim Ned Indians this Friday in Jim Ned. The winner gets 2nd place, the loser will be 3rd place in district.
