TRAIN DERAILMENT IN EASTLAND SATURDAY--Around 4:30 Saturday, August 5, a train derailed on North Seaman street in Eastland. Approximately eight cars derailed from the tracks causing a grass fire around the area. Responders got the grassfire under control quickly. There were no reports of injuries or spillages. One container was supposedly meant to carry hydrochloric acid, but it was empty at the time of derailment. Code Red was a big help in keeping everyone up to date on what was happening and fortunately no residents had to be evacuated.
