October is Fire Prevention Month and the Siebert Elementary students were visited by the awesome firefighters from the Eastland Fire Department. This group of firefighters went above and beyond this year, teaching the kids in our community about fire safety. The firefighters shared a video and then quizzed the students to reinforce the lesson. The students then went outside for a tour of the fire truck and to watch another volunteer get geared up for a fire. The older students had the opportunity to watch the jaws of life in action, and even got a turn spraying the firehose. Thank you to these great men and women for taking their time and spending the day wowing our students to teach us how to be firefighters.

Eastland Fire Department invited the community to an Open House at the Fire Station Saturday. Drinks and hot dogs were served and Firefighters answered questions, demonstrated equipment, and explained response protocols.
