Fresh Vision 2022

Where are we today? 12 Sep. 22 It’s been 21 years since the day after 9/11/2001. What were you thinking then? What are you thinking today 21 years later? Perhaps, like the birthday when you turned 21 years old, thought you had the world by the tail. In your mind you could do anything you wanted without regard for the teachings, prayers, and admonitions of parents, teachers, or pastors.

From Tx.Rep. Glenn Rogers

Friends, There are only a few more days left of Summer and I have spent the last few weeks out in our communities, meeting with leaders and citizens from all walks of life. The 88th Texas Legislature begins in January and as I count down the days, I am eager to continue meeting with the good people of House District 60. As I have toured around the District, I have learned of issues that need to be addressed locally or in Austin. Please, contact me if you have concerns or ideas you would like to share. Following are examples of some of our district activities: On August 29, I had an amazing time at Crockett Elementary in Weatherford. There, I read to engaged and eager 3rd graders a book called “Rosie Revere, Engineer”. After spending time with these students, I have even more faith that our future is in good hands and appreciate how hard our teaching professionals work and care for their students. Additionally, I enjoyed meeting with Elena Ford (Henry Ford’s granddaughter), Charlie Gilchrist of Southwest Ford, several Ford dealers and staff, Weatherford ISD administrators, elected officials, and the staff at Crockett Elementary who all were involved in this great event. On August 31, I met with Fire Chief George Teague and Deputy Chief Walter Couch of ESD #6 in Parker County and discussed issues while touring the district. Board President Donna Tillman and Treasurer Tom Huffines also attended. My gratitude goes out to these brave public servants for all that they do. It is because of the people like them, that our communities have remained safe, even through wildfires that have ravaged parts of our district.

FROM THE GORMAN MAYOR

What a great Peanut Festival! If you were not in Gorman for the festival, you missed a great time. There was a parade, great food, contests, music, and a car show with everything from the old completely restored to a brand-new Corvette! Thank you to everyone that attended the festival, but especially to all of our local people that prepared for it. A special thanks to Tacy, Joni, Joe, Jeff, and John that work for the city! If you missed it, make plans to attend next year today!
