By Tommy Wells Kyndall Scitern and Delila Crain combined for 34 points and Monday night and powered the Gorman High School Lady Panthers to a convincing 64-21 victory over the Iredell Lady Dragons in the first round of the Class A schoolgirl state playoffs.

Second graders at Gorman’s Maxfield Elementary recently felt “Out of this World” as they learned about our Solar System. Learning dictionary skills calls for hard work and teamwork!
Burr!!!!!!!!!! I am certainly glad last week is over and hope we don’t have any more weather that cold. Although, I’m sure the soaking our area received will certainly help our farmers and ranchers. Our patio looked like an ice-skating rink, but I didn’t try it out. I don’t bounce as well as I used too.
Delila Crain scored a lot of points on Friday against the Gordon Lady Longhorns. None, however, were as important as the ones she threw in in the fourth quarter.
Josh and April James, pictured above, are new business owners in Gorman. Their Zhuzh Bakery has an online shipping as well as local counter sales. The products are highly recommended by local residents! Josh and April come to us from Oregon and their business is located at 111 Kent St. in downtown Gorman.
