Lady Panthers go 2-2 in Hamilton tournament

The Gorman Panthers’ 2021 football season came to a tough end on Friday in Bronte. The fourth-ranked Water Valley Wildcats rode the legs of running back Canon Wiese to a stunning 58-0 victory in the bi-district round of the Class Division I six-man football playoffs.
Dimitri Brandenburg rushed for 252 yards and five touchdowns this past week and carried the Gorman Panthers into the state playoffs by spearheading a 70-30 rout of Baird at Brogdon Field, With the win, Gorman improved to 6-3 for the season and, more importantly, created a threeway tie for second in the District 13-A Division standings. The Panthers won the tiebreaker in the standings and earned the right to advance to the postseason at the district runner-up.
The Gorman High School Panthers found their way back into the win column on Friday by racing to a 52-26 victory over the Santa Anna Mountaineers in a key District 13-A showdown.
