Lady Panthers cruise to District 19-A Cross County crown

The Lingleville Cardinals might have been the happiest team in the state when the final buzzer sounded at Brogdon Field on Friday night. Mostly because they had survived a wild 60-58 decision over Gorman in a key District 13-A showdown.
The Gorman Lady Cubs closed their 2021 cross country season on a high note last week by racing to second in the final team standings at the District 19-A meet.
The Gorman High School Lady Panthers turned in yet another strong outing this past weekend. The GHS girls had four runners finish in the top 50 spots and rolled to a seventh-place finish at the Goldthwaite Invitational.
The May Tigers continued to turn heads in the six-man football ranks this past weekend. The state’s top-ranked squad in the Class A, Division I poll, the Tigers nailed down their 19 win in their past 20 games with a 54-0 victory over the Gorman Panthers.
