Natalie Torres and the Gorman High School Lady Panthers’ cross country teams continued to excel on the trails this past week by turning in outstanding efforts at the Priddy Invitational. Both the GHS varsity and junior high teams finished in the top five in their respective divisions.
Dimitri Brandenburg and Briar Scitern both rushed for more than 100 yards and multiple touchdowns on Friday and helped the Gorman Panthers close out the non-district portion of their 2021 schedule on a high note. The two combined for six touchdowns in a 44-42 victory over the Perrin-Whitt Pirates.
Dimitri Brandeburg rushed for two touchdowns and threw another on Friday and helped carry the Gorman Panthers to a resounding 65-16 victory over the Gustine Tigers in non-district six-man football action. As a team, Gorman rolled up 393 yards in a game that was halted at the half due to the 45-point mercy rule. With the win, Gorman improved to 3-1 heading into this week’s home game against Perrin-Whitt.
The Gorman Lady Panthers continued to turn heads on the cross country paths this past week as they raced to a fourthplace finish at the Dublin Cross Country Invitational. The Lady Panthers had all five six runners finish in the top 35 positions in the event.
