The Gorman boys and girls ran their way to gold medals in all three relay events on April 9 in Dublin and cruised to the District 19-A track and field championships. The Panthers, who netted seven first-place finishes overall, rolled up 171 total points and easily outdistanced Gordon for the top spot in the boys’ final standings. The GHS girls tallied 188 points – 58 more than Strawn.
Hadli Hampton helped the Gorman Junior High School Lady Panthers turn in a memorable outing last week at the Goldthwaite Junior High School Track and Field Meet. The GJHS sensation won the 200-meter dash and the girls’ high jump crowns en route to leading the Lady Panthers to a third-place finish in the team standings.
Sam Mauney, Larissa Massengill and Esmeralda Ervin swept the top three places in the 100-meter dash and the Gorman Lady Panthers placed in all three relay events last week and powered their way to a second-place finish at the Goldthwaite Invitational.
The Gorman High School Lady Panthers, arguably, played in one of the toughest basketball districts in 2021. That didn’t stop them from making plenty of noise.
Isabell Segura, Gabby Herrera and Kynder Scitern all scored into double figures on Friday and helped the Gorman Lady Panthers cap a busy weekend of basketball action with a 59-25 victory over the Three Way Lady Braves.
