When describing the 2021 season for the 5th/6th grade Eastland Mavericks, a common word hear was phenomenal! The young men started their season in August and have been working hard to be the best ever since then. This year the Eastland Youth Football League was enrolled in the West Texas Rural Football League. The competed against Breckenridge, Coleman, Colorado City, Clyde, Hawley, Early, Merkel, Jim Ned, and Snyder.
The Eastland Mavericks always believed their offense was good enough to generate wins. On Friday night in front of a large crowd in Seymour, they proved it.
Congratulations Mavericks! Eastland Mavericks won Bi-District and earned a trip to the second round of the Class 3A Division II playoffs with a 42-21 victory over Wichita Falls City View. (See article Front Page). Photo: Amy Wright
