When you watch your Hometown Burn

I have never been in a war zone, but this week feels like one here in Eastland County. As you drive the roads with telephone poles burning, church roofs blazing, people walking dogs down the center lane of a once busy road, or seeing your friend tell her children they lost their home. Your heart is not ready for this, and although you don’t want to live it for yourself you feel guilty if it is not your story too.

THIS SCRIBE feels so inadequate to even comment on this time of horror “fire time” which has been declared “Texas — the biggest fire” — with so many doing so much! Our town is full of emergency responders who have come to help the wonderful local men and women who do so much to help protect us. We all wish we were able to properly thank every one.
