Farmers and Merchants Bank Provides Remote Financial Literacy Learning Resources to Local Schools

Farmers and Merchants Bank stepped up to make partial or full remote learning in the wake of COVID-19 easier. Thanks to their sponsorship, over 1,000 students and teachers at De Leon High School, Early High School, Eastland Middle School and Stephenville High School in Texas have free access to Banzai. Banzai is an award-winning online financial literacy program and content library of articles, calculators, and personalizable Coaches. All of these resources are available to students at home or in the classroom via any device that can access the internet.

Officer Joiner awarded 2021 ‘Rookie of the Year’

On 12/14/2021, at the Eastland Police Department Christmas gathering, Officer Samuel Joiner was awarded “Rookie of the Year” for 2021. Officer Joiner was nominated and voted on by the command staff for the award.
Luncheon proceeds to benefit local Programs

KATX and KWBY Radio held their business and customer appreciation luncheon at the Lumber Yard in Eastland recently. Thanks to Terry Slavens, Mae’s Meat Market, and Spanky’s Catering for the luncheon. All proceeds will go to The Back Pack program and Meals on wheel. Photo & Caption: Bob Hickox
