County Veterans Receive Presidential Volunteer Service Awards

Two individuals and a county veteran’s group were honored at a well attended event last Wednesday in the County Courthouse for their outstanding support and help given to veterans and volunteer work within the community. ECT Speaks with Congressional District 25 Representative Roger Williams

Redistricting has brought changes to Eastland County. Although voting precincts in the county itself did not need to be redistricted, our state house and senate districts changed. Additionally, we are now a part of U.S. Congressional House District 25. Congressman John Roger Williams was re-elected as representative of this district in the 2022 November election. Williams has represented congressional district 25 since 2013. He also served as Secretary of State of Texas under Governor Rick Perry.

State Attorney General Presents Program on Identify Theft & Fraud

Vanessa Brown & Brooke Worcester (pictured above) spoke Wednesday to citizens on avoiding identify theft and what to do if it occurs. Awareness is the 1st step to avoiding identity theft prevention, it was emphasized. Texas ranks 12th in Nation for victims. This program was hosted by Texas A & M Agrilife Extension at the Judge Scott Bailey Event Center.
