Merriman Baptist Church on Lake Leon Road in Ranger, celebrated their 128th Anniversary on November 1, 2020 with great services. The guest singer, Miles Pike, got sick and had to return home on Saturday and Pastor Jim Lang had to make some changes to the program. He and his wife, Dana, brought most of the special gospel music concert, along with Cindy Lewis in the 10:00 service. When church started at 11:00, there was a very good attendance in the au-ditorium of members and guests, who were excited to be included in the celebration. The Pastor, his wife and Ms. Lewis performed some good gospel songs that warmed the hearts of the congregants.
A Trump Parade was held Saturday. It started in Eastland and went to Cisco and then on to Ranger. Lots of vehicles were driven in the parade. By Sheila Hickox
RED STAR (as locals know it) is rising rapidly on the I-20 and Hwy. 6 site to become a major stopping center to house BurgerKing and other important food services as well as fueling and services for the HEAVY two-highway traffic and local fueling-feeding center for highway, local and area customers. A major side development there that is the City of Eastland’s installation of a major sanitation facility which will provide sewage services for that entire major transportation center for present and future development in that prime location. (P.S.--The building is destined to be a beautiful addition just south in the recently added area to the City limits.)
