Book Club at the Library

The Eastland Centennial Memorial Library has a book club that meets once a month on a Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The next meeting will be on Thursday, November 19th. What Alice Forgot by Lian Moriarty is the book of choice. This is the story of a wife and mother of three who wakes up on the gym floor and has forgotten the last 10 years of her life. Ultimately, Alice must discover whether forgetting is a blessing or a curse, and whether it’s possible to start over. (Goodreads description)

Youth from around Eastland County filled streets and fall events on Saturday in their favorite costumes. Pounds of candy was given out, this newspaper has been told: at homes, businesses, parades, contests, and Trunk or Treat opportunities. Above, a cuddly “puppy” from Ranger examines a lolly pop; to the right (center) a young man in Eastland proudly wears military attire to honor his uncle while Trick or Treating; to the right above “Little Deer” winner of a costume contest in Gorman, poses with her prize; right below, a young “clown” in Cisco goes Trick or Treating in a colorful costume.
