The Gorman Panthers’ 4x400-meter relay team will be competing in the Class 1A state track and field meet this weekend in Austin. The Panthers earned their way to the state meet with a second-place finish at the Region III-1A Track and Field Championships in Whitney on April 23. The Gorman boys and girls ran their way to gold medals in all three relay events on April 9 in Dublin and cruised to the District 19-A track and field championships. The Panthers, who netted seven first-place finishes overall, rolled up 171 total points and easily outdistanced Gordon for the top spot in the boys’ final standings. The GHS girls tallied 188 points – 58 more than Strawn.
