Bulldogs keep postseason hopes alive with win over Santo

The Ranger Bulldogs sank a couple of big shots late in the fourth quarter on Friday and eked out tough 69-65 victory over rival Santo. In so doing, the Bulldogs kept their dreams of advancing to the Class 2A state playoffs alive. With the victory, Ranger moved to 2-4 in District 11-2A play heading into a key showdown with Hico later this week. “We played pretty well,” said senior Jordan Jaramillo. “It was an important win for us.” Ranger, which was scheduled to face top-ranked Lipan on Tuesday, will travel to Hico on Friday. The Tigers currently sit one spot ahead of the Bulldogs in the district standings, fourth overall, at 2-3.
