Tommy Wells is, in many ways, like the Johnny Cash of newspaper sportswriters. Mainly because, he’s been everywhere, man. Few of those places are as close to his heart as his latest effort – covering sports in his own back yard.

Christian Gonzales drove in three runs and Dylan Wilson added another on Thursday and helped the Eastland Mavericks snap a twogame losing streak with an 8-1 romp over Brady in front of a large crowd at the Eastland ISD Ball Park.
The games will not be going on, after all. At least, not for athletes at Eastland County’s two colleges.
For the first time in years, there will be a shortage of sportage in Eastland County for at least the next few weeks.
The Cisco Lady Loboes continued to turn heads on the softball field this past weekend. Cisco went 4-1 mark at the Eula tournament.
