From Donna Kate: Members of Eastland Chapter #280 Order of Eastern Star donated diapers and wipes to the Child Advocacy Center. New Police Chief sworn in by City

On November 1st 2022 the City of Eastland swore in a new Police Chief. Former Texas Highway Patrol Corporal Tim Pitts was sworn in as Eastland’s new Police Chief. Chief Pitts is taking over the helm at the police department as Chief David Hullum is retiring and preparing to move into his new role as County Judge of Eastland County. Chief Pitts began his career in law enforcement with the Eastland Police Department in 1995 and served there until 2001 when he joined the Texas Highway Patrol where he served, until his retirement in August of 2022.

Serving over 38 years, Denise Emert to Retire

Look who is embarking on a new life adventure, Denise Emert. She is getting ready to test the waters of retirement, after serving the public for over 38 years in her job at the Eastland County Appraisal District. Denise has helped and guided countless taxpayers navigate the paperwork to be qualified for agricultural use and /or wildlife management. Denise has a passion for helping people and making sure everything is always in order.

TEEA Offers Lunch Seminar

Looking for new ideas for holiday gatherings? Make plans to attend Parties With Pizzazz!, a Lunch and Learn Seminar offered by Texas Education Extension Association (TEEA) on Monday, November 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the Scott Bailey Event Center, 201 W. Main St, Eastland. This free session is open to the public. Bring a pot luck dish to share or your own lunch and learn how to be a successful hostess, develop a party plan, feed a crowd and more great party ideas.
