Lane Palmer helps Officer Eddie patrol the halls at Siebert Elementary

Around Christmas time, a kindergartener by the name of Lane Palmer had his picture taken with Santa. Afterwards, I asked Lane what he asked Santa to bring him. Lane advised me he wanted, “an Official Officer Eddie costume and hat just like you…with all the equipment.” Now, I have had other children tell me they want to be a police officer when they grow up, but Lane was the first one to say he wanted a costume just like Officer Eddie. So, I had an idea that would make his day. I checked with his teacher to see if it would be ok for him to patrol the hallways with me one day. So, this past Friday I got the ok. I contacted his mom and she made sure he wore his “Official Officer Eddie Costume.”

Hogs running wild in County, State

Hogs are running wild in Eastland County and across the state of Texas. If you have seen helicopters in the area the past week shooting hogs, this is why. If you have traveled backroads in or around the counties in the last few months you have probably seen wild hogs on the side of the road or in fields. These swine can be a danger to the motorist, and the landowner for sure.
