Dangerous Mix of Weather Hits Texas

I for one, have never seen it this cold in Eastland County -7 degrees has pretty much brought our small Texas community to a halt. A few convenient stores open with one grocery store. Even our big W was closed and finding bread and water is almost impossible. Most without power and water. At this point their is no estimated time as to when it will be back on. People are literally trying to find ways to stay warm in their homes as some of the most frigid air of the winter digs in. It has caused business closures schools and a tragic 100 plus car pile up in Fort Worth-Dallas area killing at least 5. We have seen people helping people, bringing strangers in their homes, churches opening their doors in the area to assist those with no power and food right now and that’s what small town people do. We lend a hand whenever possible. Stay warm and remember it will get better. The sun is coming out! Thanks to all EMS, Fire, Medical teams, Line men and Police officers who are out working in these treacherous conditions. Sheila Hickox
