Initial first step approving the new City fiscal year budget (starting Sept. 1) and a long list of City provided service fees are to be decided by Commissioners at the Wednesday noon meeting.
Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas has a new office in Eastland. The Eastland Workforce Center, located at 112 S. Seaman Street, Eastland, TX 76448, has opened in partnership with the Eastland Economic Development Corporation to expand employment service options for employers, job seekers, and families in the eastern part of the West Central Texas region. In-person services including access to computer equipment, employment support, and more are available at the Eastland office location by appointment only on Thursdays from 9:00am-3:00pm. All appointments must be scheduled in advance by visiting www. wfswct.org and clicking the red “Make An Appointment” button located along the right side of the screen or by calling the Eastland Workforce Center at (325) 795-4213. A full slate of virtual services to workers, employers, families, and child care providers remain available at www.wfswct. org such as live chat, job openings, virtual workshops, orientations, and how-to videos. At approximately 9:00pm, August 26, 2020, Cisco Police responded to a call of a female who had been seriously injured near the Flying J/Denny’s on IH20 in Cisco. The female injured herself after jumping from an 18 wheeler and later stated that she had been kidnapped in El Paso, Texas. It is believed that the perpetrator’s intentions were to use the female in sex trafficking operations.
