All children deserve a bed in which to sleep, but there are children in Eastland County without beds due to family hardships. Eastland County 4-H is having a Build-A-Bunk workday to build bunk bed units for these families.
Fall is in the air…This week marked the first day of Autumn: Cool mornings, hot chocolate, cinnamon spice, football games, bonfires, and yes, colorful Mums and Pumpkins. Pumpkins to decorate with and to carve and maybe make a pie or two. Drive down main street in Eastland and you will see that Meghann’s Market is full of pumpkins and color, as are many shops throughout the county. - “I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion,” – Henry David Thoreau, an American poet, mused in the mid 1800s.
The last surviving member of the Olden High School class of 1940 has gone to be with the Lord.
Jimmy Dean Finley passed away September 3rd in Palestine Tx.
