CITY OF EASTLAND COVID-19 STAFFING CHANGE

Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic the City of Eastland has implemented City Hall staffing changes until further notice. These implementations include staff working “split shifts” with certain staff members on shift Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and others on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All staff members will take their lunch break from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. each day. During this time the phones at Eastland City Hall will not be answered Mondays through Fridays from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. You may leave a phone message and your call will be returned. For water/sewer emergencies during the noon hour please call 254- 629-8232.

River of Life Food Pantry

Our goal is to help families that are temporarily in need of assistance. If you would like to contribute to the food pantry this month, we are asking for canned corn, canned mixed vegetables, and macaroni & cheese. These and other items can be donated during office hours at the church office, Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm.

James Stafford (above) was named the new head men’s basketball coach for the nationally-ranked Ranger College Rangers.

Stafford takes reins of RC men’s basketball program

James Stafford is the owner of one of the oddest stat lines in NJ- CAA men’s Division I basketball. Over the last three years, he is the only coach to register a win as a coach for the nationally-ranked Ranger College men’s basketball team other than head coach Billy Gillispie.

Courthouse to remain Open

An item regarding the closing of Eastland County’s Courthouse for 2 weeks due to concerns of the spread of COVID-19, brought to the agenda by Commissioner Andy Maxwell, Precinct 1, was discussed at length during Monday’s Eastland County Commissioner’s meeting. No motion, however, was made for a vote by commissioners on this item.
