Mrs. Hawvermale received her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Science Education from Oklahoma State University in the Spring of 2004. She went on to receive her Master’s of Education from Walden University in 2008. The majority of her classroom experience has been as a Middle School Science Teacher (Fall 2004 - Spring 2018). She now serves Ranger ISD as the Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator and also works as the District Testing Coordinator. Ranger ISD has been her home since 2010 - here’s to many, many more years! During her time in education, she has never been as cool as Mrs. Frizzle - or as engaging as Bill Nye - or as smart as Sheldon Cooper - or as daring as the Myth Busters. But, her heart for teaching and learning is bigger than all those figures combined. The students and staff that she is honored to work with are her anchor and her inspiration. They are imperfect - just like her. And yet, they make her passion for learning even more voracious. The process of growing can be messy - Mrs. Hawvermale believes that we must embrace the chaos and rise above it. The process of learning can be challenging - we must grit our teeth and drive through the confusion and frustration until we prevail. The process of falling in and out of love with education can be thrilling and exhausting - we must use those moments to remind ourselves of the constant opportunity to become more. More. More kind. More motivated. More humble. More awesome. More knowledgeable. More. There is power in the embracing of grit. Let’s get gritty!
