Thank you West Central Texas Food Bank and Cornerstone Community Action Agency in Eastland for all you do. This morning members of these organizations were loading boxes of food in the many vehicles that came through the line. We are blessed to have this service brought to our community, which included boxes of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, milk and cheese. A full house at City Hall Monday evening witnessed the first stanza of the turnover by Retiring City Manager Ron Duncan to incoming Mgr. JJ Oznick, and deep discussion of preparations for helping bring Eastland ‘into the 21st Century’ for badly needed affordable, upgrade housing and a “live downtown square—all done legal like.

Joint Investigation Results in Arrest

A joint investigation between area agencies resulted in the arrest of a Cisco man for Possession of Child Pornography. The Abilene Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division and the Cisco Police Department executed a search warrant on the home of Sergio Nunez, 23, on Thursday April 15, 2021. The Abilene Police SWAT Team made entry into the house located at 702 West 8th Street in Cisco where multiple individuals were detained and questioned about the offense. At the conclusion of the search, Nunez was arrested and transported to Eastland County Jail where he was booked. Numerous computers, cell phones and other devices were confiscated as well items of drug paraphernalia. Other charges may be filed once the devices have been forensically analyzed. Chief Preston remarked, “This is just another step taken toward protecting the children of our communities.”
